On November 13, 76 ninth-graders from Aldine ISD’s HEAL Program at Nimitz High School reached a major milestone by earning their medical scrubs after weeks of training, shadowing, and practicing procedures at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.

The inaugural Commitment to HEAL Ceremony: “From Classroom to Care” celebrated the students’ progress and marked the first official scrub ceremony in the program’s history. The event highlighted their dedication and the program’s mission to prepare students for medical careers.

The HEAL Program, launched this year, is a Choice School/CTE initiative supported by a $31 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the largest private foundation investment in the district’s history. It offers students hands-on healthcare experiences and pathways to pursue future careers in the medical field.
