Space Center Houston, the premier space exploration and education hub and the official visitor center for NASA's Johnson Space Center, invites the public to witness the unveiling of the Gateway Habitat, an exciting new addition, on October 23 at 9:00 a.m.

The Gateway Habitat is a 14.5-foot-diameter, 21-foot-long, 7,500-pound training module crucial to NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon. It will also pave the way for future human missions to Mars and beyond.

Donated by Northrop Grumman, the Gateway Habitat was originally used by astronauts and engineers to design functional living and working spaces for Gateway, the planned lunar-orbiting space station. The mockup was instrumental in testing systems like lighting, ventilation, communications, and ergonomics for life in space.

The Gateway Habitat will open to the public on October 24, offering visitors the chance to experience "a day in the life" of astronauts living and working in space. It provides a unique glimpse into what life on a lunar-orbiting space station might look like in the future.
