In a literary world that often underrepresents the contributions of Black authors, Black Authors Matter TV has become a beacon for African-American writers and literary enthusiasts. As the platform celebrates its 4th anniversary, it continues to solidify its role as a critical hub for diverse stories, voices, and literary discussions.

Since its inception in July 2020, Black Authors Matter TV has carved a distinctive space as the platform of record for African-American literature, with a mission to amplify the stories and experiences of Black writers. Sponsored by the National Black Book Festival (NBBF), the show has consistently drawn a loyal audience, averaging 5,000 viewers and listeners each week. Its impressive reach is largely thanks to the NBBF’s robust following, with 98K followers on Facebook tuning in to live-streamed episodes.

Co-hosted by NBBF National Coordinator Gwen Richardson and Literary Correspondent Dr. Rhonda Lawson, the show has quickly become a must-watch for anyone interested in Black literature. Every Tuesday evening, viewers can expect engaging interviews with a wide range of influential figures in the literary world, from NAACP Image Award nominees and winners to independent authors, historians, agents, and publishers. No corner of the African-American literary scene is left untouched, making Black Authors Matter TV a dynamic space for both up-and-coming and established voices.
