The Houston Symphony has named Rolanda Gregory as its new Chief Marketing Officer, with her tenure set to begin January 5, 2026. A Texas native, Gregory joins the organization from the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, where she most recently served as Vice President of Marketing.
In her new role, Gregory will oversee the Houston Symphony’s marketing, patron services, and communications teams, guiding brand strategy and supporting approximately $13 million in annual ticket sales. Her responsibilities will span patron services, advertising, public relations, social media, media relations, creative and brand development, and marketing technology, positioning her at the center of the Symphony’s audience growth and engagement efforts.
Gregory brings a diverse background in arts, sports, and entertainment marketing. At the AT&T Performing Arts Center, she led comprehensive marketing strategy, including advertising, ticket sales, audience development, branding, and marketing operations. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Marketing for FedExForum and the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, where she directed brand and creative strategy, social media, advertising, digital and email marketing, analytics, marketing technology, and youth basketball initiatives across the Memphis Basketball LLC portfolio, including the Memphis Grizzlies, FedExForum, Grind City Media, Memphis Hustle, and Grizz Gaming. During her tenure, she was recognized as Mentoring Advocate of the Year and named a Super Women in Business honoree.
Her experience in large-scale entertainment marketing began at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in Orlando, where she led the eCommerce and Digital Marketing Systems team. In that role, Gregory partnered with parks nationwide to develop strategies aimed at increasing online ticket and reservation sales, strengthening pass member loyalty renewals, and expanding merchandise purchases.
Earlier in her career, Gregory served as Director of Client Services and Project Management for MangoMOBILE, an Omnicom Group company. There, she implemented mobile marketing initiatives including app development, mobile gaming, SMS and MMS campaigns, RFID, and IVR programs for major brands such as Nickelodeon, AT&T, McDonald’s, CW Television, and Discover Financial. Her work contributed to a Silver Cannes award for a joint project with CW Television’s Gossip Girl.
Gregory holds an MBA from Troy State University, a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Houston. She also maintains a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
Her appointment comes as the Houston Symphony continues to build on its reputation as one of the nation’s leading orchestras. Under the leadership of Music Director Juraj Valčuha, the Grammy Award–winning Symphony presents more than 150 concerts annually with an operating budget of approximately $42 million, making it one of the largest performing arts organizations in Texas. Founded in 1913, the Symphony now delivers more than 600 performances each year across schools, community centers, hospitals, and other venues, reaching more than 160,000 people throughout Greater Houston.
The Symphony has earned national and international recognition for its innovation, including its response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its ongoing global livestreaming efforts, which now reach audiences in all 50 states and more than 45 countries. With a celebrated recording legacy and robust education and community engagement programs, the Houston Symphony remains a cultural cornerstone in Houston and a global ambassador for the power of music.
