Harmony School of Innovation - Sugar Land Triumphs as State Winner in Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow Competition
A Remarkable Achievement in STEM Education

In a stunning showcase of innovation and problem-solving, Harmony School of Innovation - Sugar Land has been named a state winner in Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow competition for the 2024-2025 school year. The dynamic student team, led by Syed Abidi, Nilgun Duman, and Sara Saylam, triumphed over hundreds of middle and high school teams from across the nation, earning their place as one of the top 50 state winners in this prestigious STEM challenge.
Guided by Nebi Sahin, a dedicated Physics and Engineering Teacher at Harmony School of Innovation - Sugar Land, this remarkable group of students competed against their peers to develop cutting-edge solutions addressing critical issues in their community using the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
“This is a momentous achievement for our students and school,” says Nebi Sahin. “We sincerely hope that our students take great pride in this accomplishment as one of the 50 State Winners. Their hard work and innovative thinking truly set them apart.”
Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow Competition: Fostering the Next Generation of Innovators
For over 15 years, Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition has been a transformative platform, inviting students from grades 6–12 across the U.S. to harness STEM to create meaningful solutions to local challenges. The competition not only fosters ingenuity but also encourages young minds to think critically and make a real-world impact through technology and innovation.
The Harmony School of Innovation - Sugar Land’s victory has earned them an incredible prize: a Samsung Video Kit, which will aid in the creation of their STEM solution pitch video, as well as $12,000 worth of Samsung technology to support their ongoing projects. This prize is part of Samsung’s commitment to investing in the future of education, with more than $2 million in Samsung technology and classroom supplies awarded annually to participating schools nationwide.
As part of the competition, the Harmony team advances to Phase 3, where they will compete for a spot as one of the National Finalists, to be announced on March 18, 2025.
