Huntington National Bank has named Blake Absher as Central Texas Division President, reinforcing the bank's long-term investment in one of the nation's fastest-growing economic regions.

Based in Austin, Absher will oversee Huntington's client strategy and business growth across Austin, San Antonio, Waco and Bryan-College Station. His appointment is designed to further strengthen the bank's presence in Central Texas as it continues expanding its commercial banking operations throughout the state.

Absher brings more than 20 years of Texas banking leadership experience to the role. During his career, he has served as Market President and Chief Lending Officer in Austin and other major Texas markets, leading commercial banking teams, expanding client relationships and supporting market growth in competitive banking environments.

Huntington said Texas remains a critical growth market, and the bank is continuing to build its leadership team with professionals who bring local market knowledge and relationship-focused banking expertise. The company is expanding its presence through strategic hiring, investments in talent and enhanced banking capabilities while combining the resources of a nearly $300 billion asset institution with local decision-making and accountability.

The bank's continued investment includes expanding its commercial banking team in Austin and strengthening operations across Texas to support long-term growth.

As Central Texas Division President, Absher will lead Huntington's market strategy, strengthen client relationships and deliver the bank's full suite of financial services to businesses throughout the region. His responsibilities include helping companies pursue growth opportunities, improve operational efficiency and prepare for future expansion.

Central Texas continues to experience significant population and business growth, creating increased demand for commercial banking services for companies of all sizes.
