Legendary multi-platinum R&B group JODECI will bring its 35th anniversary tour to Houston on Sunday, November 29, at Arena Theatre, giving local fans an opportunity to celebrate one of the most influential groups in 1990s R&B.

The 35-city U.S. tour celebrates the anniversary of JODECI’s landmark debut album, Forever My Lady, which was released in 1991 and went on to become a defining album of the era.

The Houston performance will feature the group’s signature blend of soulful harmonies, powerful vocals and classic R&B hits. Forever My Lady reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and produced three of JODECI’s best-known songs: “Forever My Lady,” “Come & Talk To Me” and “Stay.”

Comprised of brothers K-Ci and JoJo Hailey and Mr. Dalvin, JODECI emerged in the early 1990s with a sound and style that helped reshape contemporary R&B. The group quickly distinguished itself through its distinctive vocal arrangements, emotional performances and trendsetting fashion.

JODECI has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and earned three No. 1 albums on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart. Following Forever My Lady, the group released Diary of a Mad Band in 1993 and The Show, the After Party, the Hotel in 1995. Both albums continued JODECI’s chart success and produced hits including “Cry for You,” “Freek’n You” and “Love U 4 Life.”

To mark the 35th anniversary, Forever My Lady was also re-released as an expanded vinyl edition through UMG on July 17. The special release includes bonus tracks and a previously unreleased a cappella version of “Stay.”

JODECI’s influence extends well beyond its original run on the charts. The group’s combination of classic soul, gospel-rooted harmonies and hip-hop sensibility helped define the sound and aesthetic of 1990s R&B and continues to influence artists across the genre.

For Houston audiences, the November 29 concert will offer a chance to experience JODECI’s catalog live while celebrating an album that remains a cornerstone of R&B history.
