Aaron’s refreshed the Fort Bend Club teen center with more than $20,000 in new equipment and a $10,000 donation for future programming.

Teens at the Fort Bend Club of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston have a newly refreshed space designed to support creativity, recreation and connection, thanks to a partnership with Aaron’s.

Aaron’s recently completed a renovation of the teen center at 5525 Hobby Road, delivering and installing more than $20,000 in new furniture, technology and creative equipment. The company also presented the Club with a $10,000 donation to support future teen programming.

Completed in less than 24 hours by local Aaron’s associates through a partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the transformation incorporated ideas from the teens who use the space. New additions include televisions, gaming stations, professional photography equipment, T-shirt screen-printing and embroidery equipment, and a portable high-powered speaker for Club activities and events.

The project is designed to create an inviting environment where teens can explore their interests, develop creative skills and connect with their peers.

Michael Wall, senior director of corporate affairs for Aaron’s, said the program gives young people an opportunity to help shape spaces that reflect their interests and aspirations as they make decisions about their futures.

The Fort Bend renovation marks the 72nd teen center refresh completed by Aaron’s nationwide since 2015. During that period, the company has committed more than $13.5 million to Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

According to Aaron’s, Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide have experienced an average 84% increase in new teen membership during the six months following a center refresh.

Kevin Hattery, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, said the updated space provides a significant opportunity to attract and retain teen members while strengthening the Club’s role as a safe and engaging destination for local youth.

The new center and funding will help the Fort Bend Club continue providing programming and opportunities for teens in the community.
