HOUSTON, TEXAS, Dr. Jacque Colbert, Global People Experience executive, author, speaker, and founder of The Transformationist™, announces the rerelease of Corporate Sisterhood™: 10th Anniversary Edition, an expanded edition of the book that gave language to the experiences of women navigating workplaces that were built during a time when women weren’t allowed into these spaces.
The book was originally published in 2016. In the first edition, Dr. Colbert documented the experiences of women in leadership, which include the pressure to perform, particularly for women of color, while pursuing success, carrying expectations, and navigating leadership spaces. The book called on women to move beyond performative achievement and competition to embrace sisterhood as a source of strength, strategy, and support.
Ten years later, the workplace has changed with the evolution of AI technology and Dr. Jacque’s lived wisdom. One fact remains: the need for leadership that embraces a diverse workforce and leaders who evolve with their teams to ensure equity for all team members. The anniversary edition responds to the current moment with updated statistics, a revised acknowledgments section, and an entirely new second half, Part II: The Thriver’s Rhythm. The edition also features a foreword by Michelle Taylor Jones, Global Chief Inclusion Officer at Manulife and John Hancock, and endorsements from Simon T. Bailey and Mark Harris.
“Ten years ago, Corporate Sisterhood gave a feeling a name. Today, the conversation has caught up, and women need more than permission to succeed. They need a rhythm that allows them to thrive,” said Dr. Jacque Colbert. “Rest is not the opposite of ambition. It is part of the rhythm.”

The Thriver’s Rhythm
The new edition provides a framework and defines what a sustainable career is, using a term called “rhythm” rather than a relentless climb. It centers three movements:
● The Groove: The season of momentum, purpose, contribution, and meaningful progress.
● The Break: An intentional stop to recover, recalibrate, and protect capacity before depletion makes
the decision.
● The Sacred Pause: A deeper reflective reset that creates space to listen, realign with purpose and faith, and return as a whole person.
Through this framework, Dr. Colbert challenges organizations and individuals to view recovery, reflection, and recalibration as leadership disciplines. The book is designed for women leaders, employee resource groups, professional associations, universities, and organizations seeking to strengthen leadership development, belonging, and retention.
