Houston will once again be the gathering place for women, breast cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates and community leaders when the 2026 National Black Breast Cancer Summit takes place October 2–4 at the Hyatt Regency Houston/Galleria.

Hosted by Sisters Network Inc., the organization’s annual signature conference focuses on breast health equity and improving outcomes for Black women. The Summit is open to women ages 30–75 who are interested in learning more about breast health and brings together survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates and community leaders. Registration for the two-day Summit is free. 

The three-day gathering begins Friday, October 2, with the SIS Wellness Experience & Oasis from noon to 5 p.m. The complimentary experience is designed to provide attendees with wellness, education, connection and reflection before the main Summit. Friday evening will continue with the Pink Sisterhood Opening Reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m. 

A Full Day of Breast Health Education

Saturday, October 3, will feature a full day of sessions on breast cancer screening, risk, treatment, survivorship, research and quality of life, including topics such as AI in breast cancer screening, triple-negative breast cancer, high-risk screening, breast reconstruction and managing fear of recurrence. The day will feature experts including Lisa A. Newman, MD, MPH, FACS, FASCO; Gary J. Whitman, MD; Ryland J. Gore, MD, MPH; Taiwo Adesoye, MD, MPH; Cleo A. Ryals, Ph.D.; Clara Lee, MD, MPP, FACS; and Kendolyn Shankle, LCSW-S.

Pretty in Pink Luncheon and Awards

The Pretty in Pink Luncheon & Awards will take place Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. The luncheon is a separately ticketed event, with tickets listed at $100 per person. The event will feature a panel discussion with the cast of CBS-TV's Beyond the Gates. 

Featured panelists are Tamara Tunie, Karla Mosley and Arielle Prepetit, who are identified on the official Summit website as members of the Beyond the Gates cast. 

The luncheon also raises funds for the Karen E. Jackson Breast Cancer Assistance Program, which provides direct financial assistance to survivors and funds 3D mammograms for underserved women. 

Conversations Continue Through the Afternoon

Saturday afternoon sessions will address surgical disparities, breast cancer rehabilitation, breast health awareness among young women, emerging research on GLP-1s and cancer treatment, and self-care and healing, featuring experts and young breast cancer survivors.

Sunday Celebration of Life

The weekend concludes Sunday, October 4, with a Gospel Brunch & Celebration of Life from 9 to 11 a.m. The complimentary event requires a conference badge and will feature Rev. Dr. Tamla Wilson, founder of Tamla Wilson Ministries and The Waiting Room Infertility Ministry, as guest pastor.
