Photography by Vicky Pink - On Thursday, May 30, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Harris County – Justice of the Peace Office for the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) – Houston Chapter Scholarship Awards presentation. Four grateful students each received a $1,000 scholarship to further their education on the college level. NOBLE is committed to increasing the number of African American law enforcement leaders. As part of the organization’s Community Outreach effort, several annual memorial scholarships are awarded to promising law enforcement students of African descent annually to deserving high school seniors. Following the scholarships presentation, a reception was held. Some in attendance were Jerome Powell, Sheila James, Helen George and Judge Zinetta Burney.
