Photography by Amir Pink - On Wednesday, June 19, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Prairie View A&M University College of Nursing for the 11th Annual Disparities in Health in America: Working Towards Social Justice Summer Workshop. The six-day workshop provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of health disparities, of means to enhance health equity, and of the bio-psychosocial approach in addressing health disparities in a minority and the medically underserved populations. Leading the workshop was Dr. Lovell A. Jones.
