Photography by Vicky Pink - On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand on the campus of Texas Southern University (TSU) for A Conversation with Viola Davis. The Oscar nominated actress came as part of TSU Legends and Leaders lecture series. Serving on the host committee for the event was TSU’s first lady Dr. Docia Rudley, Mrs. Anita Smith, and Mrs. Eileen Lawal. TV personality Debra Duncan conduct the interview with Davis as she talked about childhood, her acting career, and the upcoming biopic on the life and work of U. S. Congresswoman and TSU Alumna Barbara Jordan that she is starring in and co-producing with her husband. Some in attendance TSU President Dr. John Rudley, Kase Lawal, Sylvia Brooks, Sydna Paul, Kym Jackson, Judge Vanessa D. Gilmore, Winell Heron, Alsie Cluff and Mary Sias.
