Photography by Vicky Pink - On Friday May 24, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at North Forest Independent High School as Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee honored the 11th Grade Students of North Forest Independent School District (NFISD) with the 2013 Uplift Awards. The NFISD is still a strong small school district that can go on to educate children in a warm, friendly learning environment supported by the very committed North Forest Community of taxpaying parents and businesses. At the press conference NFISD officials were able to boast about improved test scores. Joining Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) were NFISD Community Leaders and NFISD Staff, Teachers, Parents and 11th Graders, Pastors, Gospel Singer V. Michael McKay, Pastor Ken Campbell, Lil Jay Xavier and Sam Harris.
