On Thursday, April 24, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Kashmere Gardens Elementary School’s celebration of National Poem in the Pocket Day. Houston Style Magazine’s own Vicky Pink served as one of the volunteer guest speakers that their shared her favorite poem with students. Pink also spoke about her career choice with students in grades K-5. National Poem in Your Pocket Day was created by the Academy of American Poets (poetry.org) to encourage individuals around the country to join in and channel their inner poet.
