On Saturday, August 2, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the 50th Anniversary Pre-Reception Kick Off for the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD) hosted by Volkswagon in the Woodlands. The classy affair, chaired by Joyce Jacquet, attracted 300+ guests that enjoyed music by the Tom Burton Jazz group, delicious food, and lots of fun. The Humble Intercontinental Chapter of Top Teens made a presentation of $2,500 to Fred Hoyer, Vice President of Bayway Auto Group. In addition, raffle prizes were awarded. Members of the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Top Teens of America, Inc. and teens’ parents held a raffle with the Southwest Cluster of chapters that raised over $15,000 that will benefit the Humble Intercontinental Chapter of Top Teens of America scholarship fund. Some in attendance at the reception were State Representative Sylvester Turner, Linda Whischnewsky, TLOD National President Audrie Lawton, TLOD National Past Presidents, Jackie Pope, Bobbie Morehead, TLOD Area 1 Director Lois Hunt, Wondy Weston, Mildred Bright, Marianne Walker, Cherise Story, Kim Topps, Brenda Davis, Nicklous & Tameya Sam, Dr. Cheryl Gooden, the Bayway Auto Group Staff and Top Ladies from 17 different chapters.
