Photography by Vicky Pink On Thursday, July 31, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand in Boston, MA at the Sheraton Boston Hotel for the 2014 National Association of Black Journalists Convention and Career Fair for the Newsmaker Plenary and Awards. The NABJ convention began their first full day with remarks from the NABJ leaders and local government leaders. Some in attendance were Michael Smith, Sarah-Ann Shaw, Gov. Deval Patrick, Mayor Martin Walsh, and Bob Butler. During the Newsmaker plenary session NABJ convention attendees heard words from the Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preibus, Michaela Pereira, and Kelly Wright.
