Photography by Vicky Pink On Saturday, July 12, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand in the library at John Marshall Middle School for the southern-inspired launch of Pain is Power Inc. With the goal of exposing youth to a broader array of educational, cultural and corporate experiences, the nonprofit organization hosted over sixty Houston-area professionals, educators, and residents. Organizers showed attendees the various programs they want to offer youth in hopes of gaining their support to fulfill their mission. With almost no money, the organization has already developed four student-based programs to award scholarships, inspire youth in the Houston and Dallas area to verbalize their goals, and participate in a three-month enrichment program.
