Photography by Vicky Pink On Thursday, June 19, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Trinity Episcopal Church for the Jazz Education, Inc.’s Summer Jazz Workshop 2014. The Summer Jazz Workshop, which is open to middle school, high school and 1st year college students, is a five week intensive youth oriented program that focuses on the fundamentals of music and its associated business aspects for young musicians. For the 2nd year in a row the SJW will offer it’s “Artist-in-Residence,” (AIR) and Advances N Music Technology as part of the workshop’s curriculum to expose students to musicians and professionals in education, business, performance and technology. This year’s AIR are Kennedy Center’s Jazz Advisory Jason Moran and 2013 Grammy Award winner Robert Glasper. For more information, visit jazzeducation.org.
