Photography by Vicky Pink On Monday, May 26, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the World War II Monument in the Heights as Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee hosted the 3rd Annual Memorial Day Flag Posting. During the ceremony to honor America’s heroes, the Congresswoman bestowed a special surprise honor to World War II Veteran, Lamar Yarbrough, who was present. Some participating in the ceremony were Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee; Pastor Lynne Buckridge, Senior Pastor of the Heights Presbyterian Church; the Texas Air National Guard Honor Guard; Houston Police Department’s “Riderless Horse”; and the Houston Heights Symphony Orchestra.
