Photography by Vicky Pink - On Saturday, July 11, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Minute Maid Park in the grand Union Station Lobby for the Champions for Children Gala 2015 presented by Jack and Jill of America, Inc. – North Houston Suburban Chapter. The event brought awareness and supported the Jack and Jill of America Foundation and BEAR...Be A Resource for CPS Kids, a 501(c) 3 partnership that provides emergency goods and services for children under the care of Child Protective Services. Emmy-nominated actress Victoria Rowell, Astros Foundation Executive Director Twila Carter and Texas State Representative Sylvester Turner were all honored for their service to underprivileged children. Acclaimed concert pianist Jade Simmons and saxophonist Gregory Daniels performed. KHOU-Channel 11 News Anchors Ron Trevino and Sherry Williams served as Masters of Ceremony. Some in attendance were NHS President Carmen Wright, Event Chair Marvalette Hunter, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Terry Williams, Janice Weaver, State Rep. Borris Miles, Eric Goodie, Janice Taylor, Bernadette Cashin, and Diedra Fontaine.
