Houston’s First Art Bike Festival Set to Roll on May 21

Local nonprofit organizations team up for free, family friendly festival

– Houston Parks Board (HPB), the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art (OSCVA), and Houston Independent School District (HISD) are pleased to announce Houston’s first Art Bike Festival will take place on May 21. Building on the success of the iconic Art Car Parade, the Art Bike Festival will bring together Houstonians of all ages to celebrate Houston’s great parks and trails through art and creativity. The free, family-friendly event is open to all ages with a range of activities throughout the day at MacGregor Park and The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art campus.

Houston Chamber Choir presents By Local at South Main Baptist Church on Nov. 16 featuring Houston composers

Third concert of the season starts at 7:30 p.m.

Houston’s vibrant and active arts scene is enriched by a growing number of A-List composers. In Houston Chamber Choir’s third concert of the season, titled By Local, five of these composers are in the spotlight with a diverse program showcasing their immense creative talents. The Houston Chamber Choir will bring its special flair to these pieces. The evening extravaganza will include talks from each of the presenting composers throughout the concert, including Mark Buller, Daniel Knaggs, Pierre Jalbert, Rob Landes and David Ashley White. As an additional treat, patrons will enjoy viewing artwork created by several of Houston’s local visual artists who will display their pieces in a joint gallery exhibition and reception prior to the concert.

Reid returns to Houston and will make a special stop at Kid’s Meals Houston, 330 Garden Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX 77018, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM joining volunteers to package food for the community.

First Presbyterian Church of Houston to Host “Feeding Houston’s Heroes” Event

First responders will line up for the drive thru event on Tuesday, May 20, 11am until noon

First Presbyterian Church of Houston is expecting a parade of vehicles Tuesday morning as it hosts one of the biggest Feeding Houston’s Heroes (FHH) events yet. FHH Volunteers will turn the FPC parking lot into a drive-thru, distributing hundreds of meals to Houston’s EMS crews, firefighters, police officers and other first responders.
