2022 Comcast Agent of Change - Rani Puranik

Rani lives by the philosophy of ‘earn to return’. As an Indian immigrant, she had few resources and career opportunities when she came to Houston, yet she found hope and motivation by giving back to others in her community. Rani earned her way to become the CEO of World Oilfield Machine and is now giving back to her community through The Energy Project-- a global service leadership internship for students at the Energy Institute High School (EIHS) in Houston’s Third Ward. The program focuses on inclusion in the energy field and allows students to problem-solve today’s local energy challenges through innovation.

‘Bama Rush’ takes us into the world of Southern sorority fashion and hierarchies

That’s Outfits of the Day, for the uninitiated. Every day of sorority recruitment at the University of Alabama in 2021, collegiate women showed off their Golden Goose sneakers, fluttery shorts from the Pants Store and Kendra Scott pendants. There were chunky wedges and flouncy dresses and Lululemon shorts to “run home” in; there were the funny mishaps and heartbreaking rejections. And we the audience were there for all of it, until the Southern sorority hopefuls became sisters (though some never made it to Bid Day).

Houston Style Magazine and Macy's Presents: Trend Spotter!

The Trend Spotter summer event series is a platform for Houston Style Magazine and Macy's Sage to provide an awesome set of events to our city's bustling demographic of young adults looking for the next cool thing around town. Expect a unique fashion industry experience jam packed with light snacks/drinks, good music, networking, styling tips and an opportunity to support local community initiatives and organizations. Our first date highlights the nonprofit, Team Gini.
