Mayor's Turnaround Houston Initiative to Help Residents Get Job Ready Kicks Off Its First 2017 Event
Last year, the City of Houston, in collaboration with employers and various resource partners, connected to over 1,000 Houstonians through five job readiness events. Turnaround Houston, launched by Mayor Sylvester Turner, combines the elements of a job fair and a resource fair. The next Turnaround Houston Readiness Fair will take place Friday, May 12th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southwest Multi-Service Center, 6400 Highstar. Houstonians are invited to attend this community-based initiative designed to help connect them to vital resources, job readiness services and assist with eliminating potential barriers to employment.

This marks the first Art Station in downtown Houston, and the fourth in market, for the nonprofit organization’s bike share program.

Arts District Houston has commissioned a performance series in honor of Black History Month, highlighting the rich history of Houston’s First and Sixth wards. The first performance will honor Richard Brock and the park named after him, located in the First Ward. It will be a virtual experience and will be made public on February 28, 2021, at 2:00 pm on the Arts District Facebook page.
