Exhibition marks gallery’s grand opening at GreenStreet in downtown Houston and features celebrated documentary film “Memory Builds the Monument”
The Modern Art Gallery (The MAG) and IYO Visuals, with support from GreenStreet, Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation (CRC), Downtown District, Prauper Studios and Paramount, present a collaborative exhibition entitled Southern Glory, featuring more than 20 local and globally recognized visual artists.

Today, AAMA – the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans – announced significant senior leadership changes while celebrating its expansion to Houston's Northside and the addition of a K-5 STEM Dual Language Academy to George I. Sanchez Charter Schools. Dr. Adolfo Melara steps in as the new Chief Executive Officer, while Daisy Morales steps down from her role as Interim CEO. In addition to assuming the role of CEO, Dr. Melara will continue as President and Superintendent of George I. Sanchez Charter Schools.

California woman who faked her own kidnapping sentenced to 18 months in prison
Sherri Papini, the California mother who faked her own kidnapping in 2016 in a hoax that was exposed with the help of advances in DNA technology, was sentenced to a year and a half in prison on Monday, according to a release from the Department of Justice.
