What arrest of ex-cop in Houston shows about danger of conspiracy theories
On October 19, two weeks before Election Day, a retired police captain in Texas allegedly ran his SUV into the back of an air conditioning repairman's vehicle, when the man stepped out, he pointed a gun at him, forced him to the ground and put his knee on the repairman's back, according to Houston police.

Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting At Car, Hitting 13-Month-Old In Atlanta
An Atlanta man has been arrested after allegedly shooting at a car that sideswiped his vehicle and injuring a 13-month-old sitting in the backseat. Atlanta police and the U.S. Marshals took Marcell Mayfield, 29, into custody in connection with the shooting, according to police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant. The shooting happened Oct. 6 in southwest Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Hot Car Deaths Reach Record Numbers in July
As of July 31, the number of children across the United States who have died of heatstroke when left in hot cars was at a record high. This year, 29 children have died of heatstroke after being left in a vehicle. That's more than at this point in previous years, according to Jan Null, a certified consulting meteorologist with the Department of Meteorology & Climate Science at San Jose State University. And 11 of those deaths were reported in the past week alone.

Electric supercar maker Rimac receives over $500 million investment from Porsche and others
Rimac Group, the Croatian maker of exotic electric supercars that now controls Bugatti, announced that it received €500 million, or about $536 million in new investment. Among those involved in the new investment round is Porsche, which already owns about one quarter of the company.
