In this mobile age, technology has become increasingly valuable in supporting new generations of lifelong learners and readers. Now, Humble ISD and Harris County Public Library (HCPL) have formed an innovative new partnership using eBooks and digital audiobooks to modernize access to reading materials for students. This unique collaboration strives to promote literacy and digital learning by providing unprecedented access to both the schools’ and HCPL’s digital reading resources in one app. The combination of convenience, ease of reading on-the-go, and the inherent popularity of technology inspires students to learn anytime, anywhere.

The V.O. Burton Foundation Inc Gives Back To Where It Began

Phyllis Burton is the CEO and Founder of the V.O. Burton Foundation Inc. This nonprofit organization was created in honor of her late father Varn O. Burton. He managed over seven apartment complexes in the Trinity Gardens community. During his tenure he relentlessly gave back to the community and was an agent of change. He would visit tenants that transitioned to nursing homes and bring them needed items and a home cooked meal that he prepared himself. The V.O. Burton Foundation Inc is hosting Its first event where it all began.
