National C-STEM Challenge for Pre-K to 12th Grade to be Held at Health Museum of Houston
Houston based, C-STEM Teacher and Student Support Services (C-STEM), a leading national nonprofit, exposing low-income children of color to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, is hosting the National C-STEM Challenge. This free, family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Heath Museum of Houston, located at 1515 Hermann Drive, Houston, TX 77004.

New HOPE Inside centers in select Wells Fargo branches increase access to financial education and guidance
Wells Fargo and Operation HOPE, Inc., a national non-profit dedicated to financial empowerment for underserved communities, today announced plans to introduce HOPE Inside centers in 20 markets that will serve as many as 150 Wells Fargo branches and their surrounding communities across the United States by the end of 2023. The new HOPE Inside centers will feature Operation HOPE financial coaches who will help empower community members to achieve their financial goals through financial education workshops and free one on-one coaching.

HARRIS COUNTY Announces $550K In Grants To Combat Food Insecurity
Healthy, fresh food should be affordable and accessible to everyone. Unfortunately, that is not the case for many Harris County residents. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, an estimated 738,140 people in Harris County were considered food insecure, and at least 286,000 live in a food desert. As of January 2021, there are 360,000 children in Harris County experiencing food insecurity.
