Rice University and Houston Methodist will unveil the Houston Methodist-Rice University Center for Human Performance in an Oct. 10 kickoff event featuring demonstrations of the center’s state-of-the-art capabilities. Located in Rice’s Tudor Fieldhouse, the center will allow physicians, academic researchers and university students to work side by side with student athletes, trainers and coaches to advance research, clinical care initiatives and educational activities in exercise physiology, injury prevention and rehabilitation.

City of Houston Begins to Electrify Fleet Through a Partnership with Greenlots
Today, Mayor Sylvester Turner and Houston City Council announced approval to purchase, install and deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in various City facilities. The effort will be enabled through the City’s partnership with Greenlots, a leading EV charging solutions provider and member of the Shell group, and driven by the Houston Climate Action Plan – a strategy that sets out to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve regional air quality, and build climate resilience.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) is proud to announce an agreement with the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE), Local 51, extending the union’s contract through July 31, 2022. This new multiyear collective bargaining agreement (CBA) covers fiscal years 2019 through fiscal year 2022.
