After a few weeks her leave was exhausted and tragically she could no longer afford to be with her mother in the final days of her illness. In the end, Dorcas was forced to take unpaid leave, and return to Florida, arriving just hours before her mother passed away.

100 high school students to be selected for all-expenses-paid mentoring experience of a lifetime

Applications are being accepted now through Oct. 31, 2018, for the Disney Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey and Essence magazine. This annual outside-the-classroom mentoring program is scheduled for March 21-24, 2019, at the Walt Disney Resort in Florida. The program helps 100 select high school students, ages 13-19, from across the United States jump-start their life goals and pursue their dreams.

Located on the campus of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) - the largest referral hospital in the country - the Mercy James Centre includes Malawi's first paediatric intensive care unit, three operating theatres dedicated to surgery in children, a day clinic, and 50-bed ward.
