46th Annual "Original" Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade

Attention residents of Houston, Texas, and the surrounding areas! The Black Heritage Society Inc. has partnered with the City of Houston to organize the 46th Annual "Original" MLK Parade. The parade will occur on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00 am in Downtown Houston and is open to the Public. The parade will commence at the corner of Smith and McKinney in front of Houston's City Hall. This year's theme for the parade is "Brotherly Love is the Strongest Advocacy for Peace, Freedom, and Justice for All!"

City of Houston Lifts Boil Water Notice

TCEQ Confirms Tap Water Is Safe to Drink

The City of Houston has lifted the boil water notice that it issued Sunday, November 27th. Customers no longer need to boil water before drinking, cooking, and making ice. Water quality testing submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has confirmed that tap water meets all regulatory standards and is safe to drink.

Cancelled - Performing Arts Houston presents Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo's 50th Anniversary Tour

This performance has been cancelled due to the weather. Performing Arts Houston presents the return of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (the Trocks) as part of their 50th anniversary tour, on January 23, 2024, at Jones Hall. The all-male ballet company founded in 1974 will perform parodies of classical ballets Swan Lake and Paquita, as well as Yes Virginia, Another Piano Ballet, all performed en pointe.
