McDonald's and Mariah Carey Partner for 12 Days of Holiday Deals
McDonald’s announced their latest nationwide partnership with holiday superstar Mariah Carey to give fans 12 days of holiday deals. Starting on December 13 at participating Greater Houston restaurants, fans can order from the Mariah Menu, which will feature a different free item each day, with a $1 minimum purchase through the McDonald’s app. Daily items will include Mariah’s favorites, including a classic Cheeseburger and soft-baked Chocolate Chip Cookies, and will be served in festive packaging inspired by Mariah’s love for the holidays.

Stop The Silence 5K with Mayor Sylvester Turner
Sisters Network® Inc hosted the 7th National African American Breast Cancer 5K Walk /Run in Downtown Houston, Texas at Discovery Green Park on April 16th 2016. Funds raised from Stop the Silence® will benefit Sisters Network® Inc. Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP), which provides assistance to women facing financial challenges after breast cancer diagnosis. This program offers financial assistance for mammograms, medical related lodging, co-pay; office visits, prescriptions, and transportation.
AWEC - Launch Her 2013 Social Recap by Dawn Paul
Saturday, May 18th marked the 6th Annual Women's Empowerment Conference (AWEC) hosted by founder Shantera Chatman at the prestigious Houstonian Hotel. The cozy ballroom was transformed into an atmosphere where over 180 women from various backgrounds, ethnicities, and careers were able to network, empower, and inspire one another while learning how to "Launch Her" in 2013. Macy's Welcomes Gaby Espino in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
Houston Style Magazine reporter and media personality Totally Randie talked with telenovela star, Gaby Espino. Macy’s Memorial City welcomed Espino as it celebrated Hispanic and Latino cultures. The in-store event at Macy’s highlighted the art of the telenovela, exploring how it has become a staple of Spanish language entertainment and a genre that has had the ability to capture the attention of multiple generations. The evening aimed to reflect positive role models in multiple areas, celebrating journalists, non-profit leaders and scholars. Proceeds from this year’s gala will benefit both WALIPP and HABJ. Funds raised from the event will allow the Lawson Academy to expand its facility. They will also enable HABJ to provide professional development, honor excellence in journalism and cultivate young journalists to enter the professional world of media through various outreach programs. HABJ will allot $20,000 in scholarships to deserving college students majoring in the media and communications field.

HSM "Wheels To-Go" 2013 Cadillac XTS Auto Review w/ Jo-Carolyn Goode
Check out Houston Style Magazine's "Wheels To-Go" segment where we feature The 2013 Cadillac XTS! Ranking 13 out of 15 Luxury Large Cars the Cadillac XTS says reliability and safety. The XTS is powered by the latest iteration of GM's 3.6-liter V-6. Referred to by the LFX engine code, the mill makes 300 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque in the Caddy. The only transmission available is a six-speed automatic, and also like the big Buick, the XTS will offer a Haldex-based all-wheel-drive system. Front-wheel drive is standard.
