San Andreas Trailer

The Rock is an asskicker. Put someone or something in front of him, and he’ll kick its ass. Stone Cold Steve Austin? A franchise with diminishing box office returns? He’s ready to handle anything, including, apparently, an earthquake. Directed by Brad Peyton, the film follows The Rock and his ex-wife Carla Gugino in the aftermath of an earthquake that rips apart California. He’s a helicopter pilot, and they decide to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their daughter, played by Alexandra Daddario. Trust me, you remember her from True Detective. It reportedly cost about $100 million to make, and judging by these graphics, it looks like the money was well spent. As with most disaster pictures, San Andreas targets – and topples – California (to the haunting tones of the famous "California Dreamin" by The Mamas and the Papas). The Rock grimaces and shouts as a savior diving into action when the big one hits. We see the Hollywood sign fall. We see ripples scream through downtown Los Angeles. We get a hint of the threat to San Francisco. And then the mother of all warnings arrives. Paul Giamatti, playing some kind of seismic expert, warns the East Coast that even though this is happening to the Golden State, they aren’t safe, either.

Mad Max: Fury Road Trailer

"My world is fire and blood." After the roar of a car engine, these are the words used to re-introduce us to the road warrior known as Max (played in a new film by the vicious Tom Hardy). A new Mad Max: Fury Road clip just dropped. "Everybody’s gone out of their mind." Yes, it certainly looks that way as we get out first return trip to George Miller’s post-apocalyptic, road-rage-driven universe last seen in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. The faces might be different – with Tom Hardy subbing in for a much older Mel Gibson at this point – but the physicality and the muscle-car madness that has made the Road Warrior series so memorable seem to be dialed up to extreme levels. More than anything, though, this trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road makes the long-anticipated sequel look strangely beautiful. It’s almost as if George Miller pulls some of the visual wizardry he learned on the animated Happy Feet movies over to the normally bleached-out world of the Road Warrior, injecting the bone-crunching vehicle scenes with an array of wild colors that only enhance the excitement.

Blackhat Trailer

"Hack" has been a keyword in many Hollywood headlines these days due to the recent attack on Sony Pictures, but for right now we're going to take a look at another angle on cyber terrorism. The latest trailer for Michael Mann's Blackhat has arrived online. The first film that Michael Mann has made since 2009's Public Enemies, and based on a script the filmmaker co-wrote with newcomer Morgan Davis Foehl, Blackhat centers around the search for a mysterious but incredibly powerful cyber criminal who has been incredibly destructive and able to evade both the American and Chinese authorities. The sound logic is applied that in order to catch a hacker you need a hacker, so to help them out they make a deal with Nicholas Hathaway (Chris Hemsworth), an incarcerated genius who helps trace the antagonist from Chicago to Hong Kong.

Knight Of Cups Trailer

The first trailer for Terrence Malick’s new film Knight Of Cups has been released and it is just as peculiar and beautiful as you’d expect. It also gives us a look at Knight Of Cups’ rather magnificent cast, which boasts arguably the three best actors in Hollywood at the moment. As you can probably tell, Knight Of Cups won’t be for everyone. But Terrence Malick does appear to have embraced a more mainstream plot that looks as though it will revolve around Christian Bale’s attempt to juggle relationships with both Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman. Along the way he will almost certainly incorporate the usual visual decadence and subtle plotting that has become a hallmark of his films too. The fact that Knight Of Cups features the combined acting talent of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman is enough to intrigue any passionate moviegoer though. But it doesn’t stop there. The rest of the ensemble is packed out with Brian Dennehy, Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto, Wes Bentley, Teresa Palmer, and Imogen Poots, while Ben Kingsley’s voice will also feature in some fashion too. Not too shabby. Of course the fact that Terrence Malick is widely regarded as one of the most visually innovative and compelling filmmakers in the history of cinema is the reason why each of these actors leapt at the opportunity to join the ensemble for the film. Plus, he also has developed a rather wonderful habit of coercing career-defining performances from each of his cast too. The fact that he oversaw Sean Penn in The Thin Red Line, Martin Sheen in Badlands, and Richard Gere in Days Of Heaven is proof of that.

True Story Trailer

Fresh from almost bringing the world to the end with The Interview, James Franco has jumped straight back on the cinematic horse with the release of the trailer for True Story. Jonah Hill is also featured prominently in the clip, which shows the pair acting incredibly serious for a change. It looks promising. Jonah Hill has proved that he is more the capable of providing a nuanced yet complex performance in a drama, while it is also a reminder that James Franco can play creepy yet captivating with aplomb too. True Story revolves around Jonah Hill’s Michael Finkel, a disgraced New York Times journalist who finds that his identity has been taken on by James Franco’s character, a wanted killer. On the hunt for a story, Michael Finkel grows closer and closer to James Franco’s Christian Longo. But not only does he put himself in increasing danger, he also damages his relationship with his wife, played by Felicity Jones. Alongside the release of the first trailer, Yahoo has also unveiled the first poster for True Story, which is pretty bodacious.

To Write Love On Her Arms Trailer

The latest trailer for To Write Love On Her Arms has premiered and it’s more than a little quirky and a tad underwhelming. Still the always-charming and rather lovely Kat Dennings manages to make up for any of its shortcomings. You can check it out and judge for yourself. First things first; is it just me or was it impossible to keep track of Kat Dennings’ hairstyles in that trailer? She seemed to go from bangs to goth to curls within the blink of an eye. The fact that I’ve started off by talking about Kat Dennings’ hair rather than any other element of To Write Love On Her Arms probably shows you just how underwhelmed I was with the trailer. But before I go in to greater detail about why I don’t have any inkling whatsoever to see the film, here is Sony Pictures’ official synopsis for it: "Based on the true story that started a global movement, To Write Love on Her Arms presents a vision of hope, healing and redemption. Emmy® Award winner Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) stars as Renee, a Florida girl who struggles with addiction and abuse. In a creative blend of artistic fantasy and music conflicted with hard reality, Renee discovers the value of genuine friendships and embarks on a daunting yet courageous journey towards recovery. The film also stars Chad Michael Murray, Rupert Friend and Corbin Bleu."

The Entourage Trailer

"Sadly, all good parties must come to an end." This is the phrase that sets the tone for our first look at Entourage, the 2015 feature-length film based on the popular (but now defunct) HBO series. It’s a meta start for the trailer, essentially starting with a trailer for a separate, fictional film starring Adrian Grenier’s Vincent Chase. And it looks like it’s going to be some type of sci-fi/superhero/action/kung-fu hybrid before the "trailer" is paused and we can get to the meat of the tease for this movie… namely, Jeremy Piven’s award-winning portrayal of frustrated super-agent Ari Gold yelling at Chase and his crew for screwing up. Again. The first trailer for the Entourage film boasts all of the things that fans loved about the old television show. It offers an unprecedented look behind the scenes of modern Hollywood, dabbling in disputes waged between talent, and the power-brokers who let actors and directors live the lifestyles of the rich and famous. At the same time, it swims in all of the perks that come with Chase’s success – hence, him needing an entourage in the first place. We get plenty of shots of Vince, E (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Drama (Kevin Dillon) playing in fancy cars and on expensive boats with girls
