On a cold and breezy night, some of Houston’s elite came out to heat up the red carpet as the third annual Houston Sports Awards were held in downtown Houston. Many great athletes such as Oilers legend Warren Moon, Olympic Gold medalist Simone Biles, University of Texas legend Vince Young and many others were in attendance. Also attending the event were Houston’s rap royalty Bun-B, Slim Thug, and Paul Wall.
Texas Southern Men’s Basketball Team Begins NCAA Tournament Play Against Mount St. Mary
On Thursday, the NCAA will get back to some sort of normalcy as its First Four round of the 2021 Men’s basketball tournament begins and the opening game will feature one of two Houston schools to reach the “Big Dance.” Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament Champions Texas Southern (16-8) will face Mount St. Mary’s (12-10) who also made it to the NCAA tournament by winning the Northeast Conference Tournament.

Houston opens up against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday as the 2019-20 season is set to resume
The Houston Rockets will continue their pursuit of an NBA Finals Championship on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks as the 2019-20 season starts back up after nearly four months off due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. Houston will play eight games at ESPN Disney before the playoffs start and every game counts for the Rockets since they are in a playoff seeding battle with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz.
