Cold Bats Leads To Another Astros Loss
What started out as a great homestand seemed to turn quickly on the Houston Astros. After opening up the three-game series against the Oakland A’s with a 6-2 victory in game one, the big bats for Houston suddenly went cold. Oakland’s 7-3 gives them their third win of the season and evens the series against Houston at one a piece after taking back-to-back games in Minute Maid Park.

Rockets become stingy on defense in the second half to take Game 2 against OKC
The Houston Rockets took a commanding 2-0 lead on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs in Orlando defeating them by a score of 111-98. Houston used something that is becoming synonymous with their “Small Ball” lineup that has an undersized 6’5 forward in P.J. Tucker starting at center and that is defense.
Dodgers pitcher and manager suspended by MLB after bench clearing incident against the Astros
Major League Baseball sent a strong message to the rest of the league in regard to any other teams seeking any type of revenge towards the Houston Astros for the 2017 cheating scandal that was revealed this past off-season by a former Astros pitcher who is currently with the Oakland A’s.
Lonzo Ball Has Career Night From Three-Point Range To Defeat The Rockets
The shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans used a very efficient game from Lonzo Ball to defeat the Houston Rockets 122-115 on Sunday at the Toyota Center in Houston. Ball, who had been out of the lineup since mid-March with a hip flexor strain, scored 27 points and had nine assists while hitting a career-high eight shots from three-point range.
Astros Offense Comes To Life As They Defeat The Ranger 7-2
The Houston Astros got some much-needed offense on Wednesday in a 7-2 defeat of the Texas Rangers. One day after producing only one run in a loss on Tuesday to the Rangers, Houston used back-to-back home runs by outfielder Jake Meyers and infielder Marwin Gonzalez in the second inning to get on the board first and that lead would never be relinquished as starting pitcher Jose Urquidy (7-3) pitched six innings and only allowed one run.
Win Comes With A Cost Rockets blowout Grizzles but lose a key starter in the process.
One night after being blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder and having their six-game winning streak snapped, the Houston Rockets (11-10) bounced back to defeat the Memphis Grizzles (9-8) by a score of 115-103 to 3-1 on the road. Although the blowout victory feels good to a team that lost by double digits the night before, it came with a huge cost.
A New Era Begins As The Houston Astros Open Their 2022 Season Against The Angels
Although Major League Baseball had its 2022 Spring Training delayed due to a lockout dispute between the owners and players, the time has finally come for baseball fans, more importantly, Houston Astros fans, to hear those three beautiful words that are music to their ears. "Let's Play Ball!"
Astros Ace Should Change His Name To, “Zack Greinke, M.D.”
I think that Houston Astros starting pitcher Zack Greinke needs to add M.D. to the end of his name this season as he has had to operate from the mound in order to save the bullpen. Greinke pitched eight brilliant innings as the Houston Astros (28-24) was able to salvage the last game of the three-game series against the San Diego Padres (34-20) with a 7-4 victory.
Texans Must Contain Rams Disruptor Aaron Donald
If the saying, “Life comes at you fast” was a team in the NFL, it would be the Houston Texans. One week after facing the Arizona Cardinals, Houston's next opponent, the Los Angeles Rams are just as dangerous on both sides of the ball. The Texans' 31-5 defeat to Arizona revealed that Houston's inefficiency to move the ball and sustain drives is a huge problem that will not get fixed this week against Los Angeles.
Dynasty! The Houston Astros Capture Their Second World Series Title With Game 6 Win
The fans of the Seattle Mariners (American League Division Series), New York Yankees (American League Championship Series), and Philadelphia Phillies (World Series) all had a mantra before facing the Houston Astros this postseason: “WE WANT HOUSTON”.
Keeping It 100: Astros Clinch A.L. West
Some say that “You can’t have your cake and eat it too.” I guess the defending World Series champs didn’t get that memo. On a night where the Houston Astros won their 100th game for the second consecutive season, they also clinched another AL West title.
Jet-Lagged
Houston Rockets lose preseason game at home to the San Antonio Spurs.
The Rockets looked jet lagged from the time spent in Japan playing two preseason games against the reigning NBA Champions, Toronto Raptors. They lost to the San Antonio Spurs 128 – 114 in their final preseason game at home. Houston (3-2) will open up the 2019-20 NBA season against the Milwaukee Bucks next Thursday.
Astros Bats Make A Huge Impact In Four-Game Sweep Over The A’s
Houston (4-0) used a strong combination of hitting and pitching to take all four games from the defending A.L. West Champions Oakland A’s (0-4) including an impressive 9-2 win on Sunday. The Astros scored a combined 35 runs on the A’s averaging 8.75 runs per game which was almost as many as Oakland had for the entire series (9). They became the fourth team in Major League history to score eight or more runs in their first four games.
Rockets Guard John Wall Ruled Out For The Remainder Of The Season With Injury
Bad news has plagued the Houston Rockets this season and on Monday they were hit by the injury bug once again as veteran point guard John Wall will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 NBA season with a right hamstring strain. Rockets General Manager Rafael Stone made the announcement after an MRI that was performed by Dr. Steve Flores of Memorial Hermann revealed the injury
One Game at a Time
Houston gets a much-needed victory over the Nationals in Game 3 of the 2019 World Series.
During their run towards “Back to Back” NBA titles, the Houston Rockets ran into some serious trouble against the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Semifinals. Houston went down in that series 3-1 and was on the brink of elimination in Game 5. The overall theme from the head coach all the way down to the last player on the bench was to take it one game at a time. Don’t jump ahead. Just win the game you are playing, and you will earn the chance to play another one with the same opportunity.
A Helping Hand
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban helps former NBA player Delonte West during his time of need
On Monday billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, went to personally pick up former NBA player Delonte West from a gas station in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area according to TMZ. West was seen earlier last week holding a sign on nearby street corners and individuals reported he did not look in the best of health. TMZ also reported that some family members were concerned that West is battling a drug addiction and wanted him to seek help, to which Cuban has said he will pay for.
Home Is Where The Heart Is Houston Astros Open Seven-game Homestand
Although the Astros own the best road record in the Major Leagues at 38-15 and are averaging 6.89 runs per game on the road, they could not have been happier to return to Houston for the upcoming seven game homestand. Coming off a brutal nine game road trip (5-4), the Astros needed to be back in familiar territory to re-evaluate some late season issues that may cause some trouble as they make a run for the 2017 World Series.
Astros road woes continue in 6-0 loss to A’s
In a short 60-game season, multiple game losing streaks sticks out like a sore thumb. For the Houston Astros, a team that has been plagued by multiple injuries this season, they have picked the worst possible time to standout as they are in the midst of a five-game losing streak. Their woes continued on Monday night as they dropped another game back in the standings by losing to the A.L. West division leaders Oakland A’s. Houston (21-20) lost to Oakland (24-14) by a score of 6-0 in Oakland. That brings the Astros road record to 5-14 away from Minute Maid Park.
Moral Victory: Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans
As a child playing competitive sports, my coaches would tell us before each game that there was no such thing as a moral victory. You either win or lose. Moral victories don’t go down in the record books, they preached. So, every game, my teammates and I would never focus on what we did correctly. Never would we publicly talk about a great catch one of us had if we lost the game. Even when one of our players made a great tackle or even an interception, but the team lost the game. We would remain silent.
Watson Shines Bright Against The Patriots
Sometimes all you need in life is a little fresh air to help make things feel better. Well at least that is how the Houston Texans felt after they won their third game of the 2020 NFL season to improve to 3-7 against the New England Patriots by a score of 27-20. The Texans opened the retractable roof at NRG Stadium for the first time since November 30, 2014 and the Texans took full advantage of great football weather in Houston.
