On Saturday at NRG Stadium, the Houston Texans will do their best to try and bring a small amount of peace to some of the drama lifelong Houston Oilers fans have had to endure since the 1993 NFL Wildcard Playoff weekend. Most of them can tell you where they were and exactly what they were doing on January 3, 1993.

Astros lose ALCS Game 1 to the Yankees
When the weatherman predicted there would be a cold front in Houston on Saturday, he meant the temperature, not the Astros bats. Houston (0-1) was limited to three hits tonight as they lost Game 1 of the ALCS 7-0 to the New York Yankees (1-0).
Some Habits Are Worth Keeping
For the ninth consecutive time, the Astros won their opener which ties the longest streak in the modern era joining the St. Louis Browns, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners and New York Mets who have all done it since the 1900’s. Houston (1-0) defeated the reigning American League West Champions Oakland A’s (0-1) 8-1. It was the second year in a row that the Astros put eight runs on the board to start the season.
Court Is Still In Session: Q&A with Former Houston Rockets Terence Morris
“Growing up. We never had any famous athletes come back to talk to us. To see any players or former players you had to go to Baltimore or D.C. (Washington),” says the native from Frederick, Maryland. Standing at a solid 6’10, former Maryland Terrapins, NBA, and 2008 All-Euro League First Teamer Terence Morris is not hard to miss in any crowd. And on today he stands in front of a crowd that appreciates him more for his presence than his jump shot. Morris has teamed up with Play With Purpose Sports Non-Profit and the Woodlands United Methodist Church Summer Camp to help raise funds and awareness for underprivileged kids through Angel Reach.
Houston Rockets 2021 NBA Draft Selections Will Bring Excitement Back to the City
Who knew that the 2021 NBA Draft would turn out to be the “Fountain of Youth” for the Houston Rockets as they selected four players all of which are 19 years old and younger. Add that to the four players they already have under the age of 25. Head Coach Stephen Silas and General Manager Rafael Stone are building a foundation that could take the Houston Rockets back to the playoffs after finishing a dismal 16-53 season.
Hustle Hard
Rockets get back to the basics during their current winning streak.
“We haven’t played well in a couple of weeks,” said Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers last Saturday. “The only way you can get out of it is to play hard, put your head down and go forward. We can get out of this.”
Around The Bases: Astros Dominance Shines Early In Series Win Over The Los Angeles Angels
The Houston Astros wrapped up their four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels with a 4-1 win on Sunday to put the Astros in a familiar position early in the season as they lead the American League West with a 3-1 record. Rockets Open Training Camp With Intensity
"Don’t leave until I say so,” a loud voice bellowed out from the other side of the court. All that could be heard from that point on were individuals trying to catch their breath as they prepared to make the quick turnaround to complete the sprint drills.
Early Warning: Astros Gerrit Cole takes the mound in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Indians
Earlier this year, January 13th to be exact, an early morning emergency alert warning of an incoming ballistic attack was mistakenly dispatched to all cellphones in Hawaii. That alert set off a mass hysteria of panic amongst the citizens who were already on edge due to the rocky relationship between the United States and North Korea.
McCullers pitches a gem to help Astros break five-game losing streak
A wise man once told me that you must be able to learn from all of your downfalls in life before you truly can appreciate the victories that will come your way.
So Close, Yet So Far Away: The Rockets come up short in their bid for the NBA Finals
In high school, I had the opportunity to play against Mike Miller from Willowridge High School that went on to play college football at Notre Dame and professionally for the Cleveland Browns. Here I was a pretty decent player matched up against an All American. Once the ball was snapped he came towards me with that blazing 4.1 speed and I immediately turned to try and run with him. The ball was thrown high and short.

Disappointment: Texans Lose Last Game of the Season to the Colts
Every New Year I hear the same statement made by individuals who can’t wait for the clock to hit midnight on December 31st. “New Year, New Me” is what they love to scream as they drink their favorite adult beverage. Well, let’s hope that the Houston Texans organization has that same mantra going into next season. Houston ended its season by losing to the Indianapolis Colts 22 – 13 to finish the season with a 4 -12 record and be ranked last in the AFC South due to the two losses to the Colts.

“Tonight, was a pretty complete game on both ends of the floor,” said Silas when asked about his team not collapsing in the fourth quarter like they have in the past. “It wasn’t just the execution on the offensive end. It was also the execution on the defensive end as well.”
So Close, Yet So Far Away
For the Houston Rockets, it seems as if their arms are too short to grab consistent victories this season. They dropped another game on Wednesday night losing to the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 120-108 after being up by as much as 18-points at one point during the game.

Myles Straw Is Learning To Center Himself
I can imagine that is what Astros center fielder Myles Straw must have felt like his first month as the starting center fielder for the Houston Astros. He was replacing a guy who not only was great at the plate but was amazing defensively in center field in former Astros player George Springer who left Houston via free agency to sign with the Toronto Blue Jays this past season.
