Astros face the A’s in the Best-Of-Five American League Division Series
I don’t think Major League Baseball could have scripted the American League Division Series matchup between the Houston Astros and the Oakland A’s even if they tried as hard as they could. No matter what the schedule looked like towards the end of the season, this matchup was not in the cards. But it’s definitely something that the MLB will promote as much as they can to baseball fans to build the postseason drama.

The Houston Astros has baseball’s version of a “Swiss Army Knife” in utility player Aldemys Díaz who has played multiple positions for the Astros including all infield positions. He can also be used as an emergency outfielder if that is what is required from him.

Yet Minute Maid Park must have felt as hot as the desert for the Seattle Mariners as the Houston Astros brought the heat at the plate for the second game in a row. The Astros (2-0) defeated the Mariners (0-2) by a score of 7-2.

RHP Zack Greinke made his Astros’ debut in front of the largest crowd in attendance for a game this year (43,243) at Minute Maid Park and gave the fans a sample size of what they can expect heading towards the end of the season and into the playoffs. Although Greinke allowed five earned runs, three coming off of a homerun in the top of the sixth inning, he pitched a very efficient game.
It Has Been A Long Three Months For The Houston Rockets
If I had to take an educated guess. I would say that this has probably been the longest three months of Rockets Head Coach Stephen Silas’s career. Yet despite opening up the 2020-21 NBA Season three months ago to the day, coach Silas has to feel like Friday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves is his team’s season debut having finally being able to put all the season’s turmoil behind him for now.

The Houston Astros have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa. Correa, who was the only remaining, unsigned arbitration-eligible player on the Astros roster signed for $11.7 million. He was seeking $12.5 million, but the team ha only offered $9.75 million.
