Rockets become stingy on defense in the second half to take Game 2 against OKC

The Houston Rockets took a commanding 2-0 lead on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs in Orlando defeating them by a score of 111-98. Houston used something that is becoming synonymous with their “Small Ball” lineup that has an undersized 6’5 forward in P.J. Tucker starting at center and that is defense.

Astros get help from a friendly foe to secure final A.L. playoff spot.

As a young man my grandmother always taught me to do everything on my own and never depend on anyone to do anything for me.

Major League Baseball sent a strong message to the rest of the league in regard to any other teams seeking any type of revenge towards the Houston Astros for the 2017 cheating scandal that was revealed this past off-season by a former Astros pitcher who is currently with the Oakland A’s.

Texans Must Contain Rams Disruptor Aaron Donald

If the saying, “Life comes at you fast” was a team in the NFL, it would be the Houston Texans. One week after facing the Arizona Cardinals, Houston's next opponent, the Los Angeles Rams are just as dangerous on both sides of the ball. The Texans' 31-5 defeat to Arizona revealed that Houston's inefficiency to move the ball and sustain drives is a huge problem that will not get fixed this week against Los Angeles.

Lights, Camera, Action: Super Bowl 51

Well, it is finally here. The pinnacle of the NFL season. Crème de la Crème for every player that dons the uniform of any of the 32 teams in the National Football League. But for one team it seems like business as usual and the other team comes in with a ‘We Belong Here,” mentality. The AFC Champions New England Patriots will play the NFC Champions Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 in Houston, Texas (6:30 PM ET on Fox).

Astros use a season high in runs and hits to defeat the Rockies

Sometimes all that is needed to get you going is a little fresh air. At least that’s what it took for the Houston Astros dangerous hitting lineup to get ignited. The Astros (14-10) had an offensive outburst to the tune of 13 runs and 20 hits at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado to defeat the Rockies (13-11) by a score of 13-6 for its seventh straight win and third win in as many days against Colorado.

Astros lose ALCS Game 1 to the Yankees

When the weatherman predicted there would be a cold front in Houston on Saturday, he meant the temperature, not the Astros bats. Houston (0-1) was limited to three hits tonight as they lost Game 1 of the ALCS 7-0 to the New York Yankees (1-0).

Superman Returns Home

Michael Brantley returns back to Cleveland as a starter in the 2019 MLB All-Star Game

As I prepared to exit the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, I was stopped in my tracks mid-stride and paused for a second. What I was witnessing was something I was not prepared for, but definitely had been waiting all my life to see. Walking out of the last door at the north end of the airport, there is a nice montage of my childhood hero Superman. The fictional character was created during the 1930s and portrayed as a working-class citizen by day and crime fighter by night.

The "WOW" Factor Rockets defeat Portland to win their fourth straight.

There are many more moments throughout the Rockets history that has that “WOW Factor” to it and on Thursday night at the Toyota Center first-year head coach Stephen Silas had his as the Houston Rockets (8-9) defeated the Portland Trailblazers (9-8) 104-101 to extend their winning streak to a season high four games.

Texans Select Derek Stingley Jr. Third Overall In 2022 NFL Draft

"I would say there was definitely a consensus," said Nick Caserio about selecting Stingley with the third overall pick. "I would say organizationally, coaching staff, scouting staff, we put as much time and effort into Derek probably as any player."

Heating Up Texans Training Camp: Day 13

Texans head coach Bill O’Brien gave his players a much-needed break from the heat today as they practiced inside the bubble for the first time in over a week. Although the temperature wasn’t as hot on the inside, the competition and drills were. Here are a few of my observations from Texans training camp day 13.

Around The Bases: Astros Bats Go Cold In Series Split With Arizona

After a scorching start at the plate against the Los Angeles Angels, where the team scored 20 runs in four games, Houston struggled to get four runs in the last two games against the Diamondbacks, going 14-for-68 from the batter’s box.

Texas Two-Step: Houston Texans Takes On In-State Rival the Dallas Cowboys for Bragging Rights

There are certain things that will let you know you are in the state of Texas. No matter how many times you have seen a person they will still greet you with, “Hey. How are you doing?” Manners is a must growing up in Texas and that’s why we always say, “Sir or Ma’am.” You will always hear stories about how this person’s barbeque is better than that person’s because in Texas barbeque is the state food. But nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, speaks louder than “FOOTBALL,” in the great State of Texas and this week’s matchup will definitely have the volume past a ten.

Bringing that same energy

There is just something different about Houston Texans safety, Michael Thomas. Spend five minutes around him and you can’t help but to recognize his southern hospitality and energy. Thomas met with the media on Saturday after training camp practice and brought the same fervor and tenacity that he brings to the field as he talked about the social injustice issues that surround our society.

For James Harden It’s Business as Usual

A familiar face made its way back to the basketball court on Thursday. To the NBA world it was refreshing to see. For the Houston Rockets it was business as usual. James Harden practiced with the Rockets for the first time in Orlando, Florida at ESPN Walt Disney World and picked up right where he left off the last time the team was together in March.
