Texans face a very upset Green Bay team on Sunday

This past Sunday the Houston Texans had victory ripped right out of their hands as they lost to an AFC South divisional foe and undefeated team in the Tennessee Titans by a score of 42-36 in overtime in Nashville. Houston is now 1-1 under interim head coach Romeo Crennel after the Texans fired former head coach and general manager, Bill O’ Brien.

With 16.2 seconds left on the clock in Sunday’s matchup between the Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks, the reigning 2019 NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounpo found himself with an opportunity to take advantage of a statement he made earlier this year about former 2018 MVP James Harden. During a press conference after the 2020 NBA All-Star game, Antetokounpo said his team’s defensive scheme towards the end of the game was, to get the ball to whoever James Harden was guarding.

There will be an old familiar sound on Saturday, October 12th to the students, fans, faculty, and alumni off of 3100 Cleburne Street in Houston, Texas. After playing all their home games since 2012, at BBVA stadium which is home of the MLS Houston Dynamo, the Tigers fans can finally stand on their own campus and scream out this phrase they have been holding in for a while. The odds of being struck by lightning twice in a lifetime are one in nine million. For the Houston Texans those the odds were doubled within the last 3 weeks. Houston (4-10) lost another close game to divisional rival Indianapolis Colts (10-4) on a fumble inside of the five-yard line. The Texans were left wondering again, “What could have been” as they lost 27-20 to the Colts.

They had stalled the high-powered offense of the undefeated Arizona Cardinals for two drives and gotten a safety on MVP candidate Kyler Murray on the Cardinals' third offensive possession to take a 2-0 lead early in the game. They increased that lead to 5-0 on a 53-yard field goal from Ka’imi Fairbairn.

Astros defeat the Rangers 3-2 to reach 100-wins for third straight year

It is not often a baseball fan gets to witness the team they cheer for get 100 wins in a season. On tonight, 38,417 fans did. The Astros (100-53) defeated the Texas Rangers (74-79) 3-2 behind a strong pitching performance from the Major League leader in strikeouts, Gerrit Cole (18-5). He also became the fastest pitcher in Astros history to reach 300 strikeouts in a season. The last pitchers to reach such an accomplishment were Mike Scott in 1986 (306) and J.R. Richards, who did it twice in 1978 (307) and 1979 (313).
