Rockets fall to the Wizards in John Wall’s return to D.C.
Monday night was not the return home visit that John Wall envisioned when he circled the game against the Washington Wizards in D.C. on the schedule. Wall, who was traded this past offseason to the Rockets for Russell Westbrook and a first-round pick did everything he could to keep his injury riddled team afloat by scoring 29 points and dishing out 11 assists. But in the end, it wasn’t enough as Houston (11-16) lost to Washington (8-17) by a score of 131-119.
XFL Returns to Houston
Oliver Luck stood at the podium and flashed his huge smile that most Houstonians remember from his time as a quarterback for the Houston Oilers, CEO of Houston Sports Authority, and President/GM of the Houston Dynamo. Luck was in town to announce the new coach and general manager of the XFL team that will begin play in Houston at TDEC Stadium at the beginning of 2020.

Houston – In a mega four-team trade that included 12-players, the Houston Rockets have parted ways with center Clint Capela, forward Gerald Green, and back-up center Nene’. “It’s been my great joy and honor to own the Houston Rockets for the past 24 years.” These were the words spoken by current Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander in a prepared statement as he announced his plans to sell the franchise. Alexander purchased the team in July 1993 for $85 million (currently valued at $1.65 billion) from Charlie Thomas. The sale of the team came right after the Rockets were coming off a grueling seven game series against the Seattle Supersonics and it came at a time when Houston was in desperate need of an identity.
