Gerald Green Retires From The NBA And Joins Rockets Coaching Staff
“Some things in life you have to learn to close one chapter and open up another,” said Green. “I would like to thank Tillman and Patrick [Fertitta] for this opportunity. With that being said, I will be retiring from the game of basketball and joining the Houston Rockets coaching staff. I could not be more excited about it.

"Our scouts were on him as early as August," said Texans General Manager Brian Gaine as he addressed the media after the completion of the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Houston selected offensive tackle Tytus Howard out of Alabama State with the 23rd pick and Howard was elated about the team giving him an opportunity to play on the next level.

Houston Texans associate head coach Romeo Crennel is that one person that can strike up a friendly conversation with anyone he meets. His outgoing personality lights up any room he steps into. But once that headset goes on and he is calling out schemes and coverages, he is as ferocious as they come. That tenacity was rewarded by the Pro Football Writers of America when they named Crennel the 16th recipient of the Paul “Dr. Z” Zimmerman Award for lifetime achievement as an assistant coach in the NFL.

The Astros celebrated catcher Martin Maldonado’s birthday with a walk-off win
Kyle Tucker capped off a great birthday weekend for his teammate Martin Maldonado. His walk-off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Astros (11-10) a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners (7-16) and capped off a sweep of the series. Houston is now on a four-game winning streak and have won five out of the six games they have played in Minute Made Park.

Most people can look back at any point in time and remember a significant event that has changed their lives. Whether it be the birth of a child or being the first in the family to graduate college. Events like that are what you look back on as you succeed in life.
2020 Disappointment, Brings Astros Joy In 2021
Fast forward to 2021, and it looked as if the Astros would find themselves on the losing end of another ALCS. The Boston Red Sox had all the momentum, as they led the best-of-seven series 2-1 at home and headed towards a commanding 3-1 lead before a solo home run by Jose Altuve in the top of the eighth inning of Game 4 tied the game. That seemed to awaken the Astros bats as they would score seven more runs in the next inning and even the series at two games apiece.

For the second game in a row the Houston Rockets (2-2) have been good, but just not good enough to finish. After losing Game 3 on Saturday in overtime due to the inefficiency to slow down big runs by the Oklahoma City Thunder (2-2) at the end of quarters, the Rockets let it happen again in Game 4. OKC used a 22-7 run at the end of the third quarter to erase a Houston 15-point lead and would go on to defeat Houston by a score of 117-114 to even the series at two games apiece.

There will be an old familiar sound on Saturday, October 12th to the students, fans, faculty, and alumni off of 3100 Cleburne Street in Houston, Texas. After playing all their home games since 2012, at BBVA stadium which is home of the MLS Houston Dynamo, the Tigers fans can finally stand on their own campus and scream out this phrase they have been holding in for a while.
