Pope Francis Suggests Building Bonds of Reciprocity for Solidarity

A common phrase that I have heard since the pandemic started is the need for something better to be birth from it. Whether that is a new skill, career opportunity, cleaner environment, the desired outcome was always to be better or something to be made better. Pope Francis wrote an op-ed for the New York Times with this same air of the world and its residents being better coming out of this pandemic. His thoughts were that people would be better by being more connected to each other on a personal level and being less selfish to be more empathic to one’s pain. This could make kinder people and a kinder, more understanding world.

Chaos at the Capitol

Wednesday, January 6, 2021, will go down as one of the darkest days in American History. A sitting U.S. President incited people for months with lies about how the election was stole from him and was unfair igniting the angry in people to the point that they became craze. That craze became insanity. And they did the unthinkable with the permission of these words:

Navigating Modern Challenges with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Timeless Wisdom

In his iconic "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech on April 3, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. emphatically declared that grappling with racial, social, and economic injustices was a matter of survival. Fast forward fifty-six years, and this assertion still resonates powerfully today. Like King, we must not resort to violence to handle the issues of the day but must err on the side of peace to be nonviolent.

Are You Registered to Vote?

My vote won’t count. I missed the deadline. The process is too hard. What are these statements? Excuses used by Americans as reasons why they don’t vote. And there are more than that with regards to black and brown people faced with lack of transportation, voter IDs laws, distrust of the system, and a lack of education of the process. However, I am of the belief that for every excuse there is a solution to resolve it. Stop thinking you won’t be heard.

Riding High in the Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 Double Cab

Bungee jumping, zip lining, tight rope walking, and skydiving are just some things that you won’t catch me doing. Why? Basically, I have a fear of heights; maybe not necessarily heights but the fear of falling from a very high height. Ironically, being high is why I loved reviewing the vehicle I had this past week. The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 Double Cab Long Bed had me riding high and I liked it.

The Changing Definition of Beauty

Pulling the naps out of our hair with a comb that is blazing at 149 degrees Fahrenheit. Starving ourselves, going under the knife, duck taping our body parts just to minimize the size of our breasts, butt, and hips so we could be looked at as the perfect sized woman as defined by America culture. Looking in the mirror trying to find the beauty in the face staring back when we have been brainwashed to think that beauty is everything but what we see reflected in the mirror. This is just some of what little Black girls go through growing up that results in low self-confidence and a lack of self-love.
