According to media reports, pricing information for used cars and trucks revealed value hikes last week much higher than a week earlier. Analysts said overall car segments increased by 1.54% (compared to 0.88% the prior week) and the overall trucks and SUV segments increased again this past week at 1.11% (compared to 0.52% during the prior week).

Houston ISD Facing $208 Million Budget Shortfall
As HISD begins to prepare a budget for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year, the district is estimating a $208 million shortfall as result of the financial impact of Hurricane Harvey and recapture. HISD has seen a decline in student enrollment and is planning for a further decline for the coming school year, which will mean a decrease in state funding.

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed William “Bill” Douglass and appointed Reginald B. “Reggie” Smith, Jr., David Bristol, Anthony Ricciardelli, and William “Willie” Steele to the Red River Boundary Commission for terms at the pleasure of the governor. Additionally, the Governor named Reginald B. “Reggie” Smith, Jr. chair of the commission. The Red River Boundary Commission is established to oversee the redrawing of the boundary between Texas and the State of Oklahoma in the Texoma area. The Commission shall confer and act jointly with representatives appointed on behalf of the State of Oklahoma.
