Texas Southern University and PNC Bank will launch the PNC Regional Center for Entrepreneurship during a roadshow event on Thursday, April 13 from 12-4 p.m.. Through PNC’s support for this initiative, the Center for Entrepreneurship will provide programming, access to capital, education, research, and much more to help expand opportunities for Black businesses across the country.

Atty. Jackie Lacey announced she would not criminally charge the two officers who shot Ford during a scuffle in his South L.A. neighborhood.

The State of Qatar, through its $30 million Qatar Harvey Fund, is providing a grant to Harris County for the creation of soccer fields in Precincts 1 and 4. Texas House speaker signs Arrest warrants for 52 Democrats
Republicans in Texas are increasing pressure on Democratic lawmakers to return to the state’s Legislature, threatening they may be arrested if they fail to go back to the GOP-led chamber. State lawmakers voted 80–12 to give law enforcement the authority to track down and force absent Democrats to return to the House of Representatives. Shortly thereafter, Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan signed civil arrest warrants for 52 Democrats. The warrants will be delivered to the House sergeant at arms Wednesday morning for service. The lawmakers wouldn’t face criminal charges and could just be taken to the House chamber. “People aren’t going to jail, but they got to come back to work,” Republican state Rep. Mayes Middleton said.
