Houston Community College will offer two new bachelor's degree programs starting in fall 2023. Students can obtain a four-year degree in Applied Technology in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and Applied Science in Healthcare Management.

Mayor Sylvester Turner today signed a proclamation declaring a Local State of Disaster Due to a Public Health Emergency to help contain and mitigate COVID-19 from spreading. As a result of the emergency order, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo will close down immediately and city-sponsored, produced and permitted events will be postponed or cancelled through the end of March.

With tonight’s Game 7 win over the LA Dodgers, the Houston Astros are World Series Champions for the first time in franchise history. Prior to this season, the Astros had gone 55 years without a World Series Championship and had appeared in only one other World Series (2005). The Astros defeated the LA Dodgers by a score of 5-1 tonight at Dodger Stadium.
