Governor Abbott Orders Immediate Action To Address The Safety Of Texas Schools
Governor Greg Abbott today sent a letter to Texas Education Agency (TEA) Commissioner Mike Morath ordering immediate action to ensure the safety of children in Texas schools following the tragedy that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last week. In the letter, Governor Abbott outlines a number of steps to be taken by state education leaders to help respond to and prevent such tragedies.
