Bun B’s Trill Burgers to return to Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for the 2023 season
Award-winning smashburger concept set for an encore appearance at NRG Park
Trill Burgers has announced that it will make its much-anticipated return to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Rap legend Bun B’s award-winning smashburger concept – which was named “Best Burger in America” by Good Morning America in 2022 – will be a food vendor at booth RP130 in Rodeo Plaza at NRG Park, located on NRG Parkway East near the Champion Wine Garden and NRG Astrodome. It will be next to the booth that Trill Burgers operated last year, with an updated buildout for 2023.
KREWE de HOU Inaugural Mardi Gras Ball - February 3, 2024
The inaugural KREWE de HOU Mardi Gras Ball, presented by KREWE de HOU Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, February 3 at the JW Marriott by the Galleria in Houston. This first ever Mardi Gras ball will boast entertainment, a Mardi Gras program, the presentation of the 2024 Mardi Gras court, crowning of the 2024 King and Queen and scholarship presentations. Attendees will dance the night away with DJ Supa Dave, from Lafayette, Louisiana while also enjoying hors d’oeuvres and an open bar.
PHEN Expands National Educational Outreach with Its 2017 Prostate Health Symposiums
With twelve symposiums in nine states completed from April through June, and another 13 scheduled through November, the Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN) is taking its educational efforts to greater heights. The Fifth Annual Symposia is a series of partnerships between churches and PHEN throughout the country. “The symposiums are a cornerstone of our efforts to increase knowledge and awareness for black men who have the highest prostate cancer incidence and mortality rates of all men in the United States,” says Thomas A. City of Houston Launches ParkHouston Mobile Parking App
The City of Houston and Parkmobile, LLC have partnered to launch a custom parking app for mobile payments called ParkHouston. The application allows parkers to use their mobile devices to pay for parking at the 9,200 metered, on-street parking spaces throughout the city. Customers using the ParkHouston app can pay for parking with their smartphones using a free mobile application available for iPhone and Android.

Bank of America (BofA) is giving Rebuilding Together Houston (RTH) a $30,000 grant to provide window AC/heater units to the most in-need low-income homeowners in underserved neighborhoods. The record-breaking summer heat is threatening low-income Houston area residents more than ever. The AC units will be given to families living at or below the poverty level in aging homes with inefficient temperature control and poor air quality, as they are most at risk for health and safety challenges.
