Tuskegee University Graduate Public Health Program Receives Full Accreditation

The Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine’s (TUCVM) Department of Graduate Public Health (DGPH) master’s in public health program is now fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). CEPH notified Tuskegee University President Dr. Charlotte Morris that the Tuskegee University Master of Public Health Program was reviewed by the CEPH Board of Councilors which acted at its June 1-3, 2022, meeting to approve full accreditation for a five-year accreditation period.

TutorVille, a Houston-based boutique tutoring firm and concierge education service, today announced the official launch of TutorVille Foundation. The 501c3 non-profit was conceived by TutorVille CEO and President Jess Rogers, along with Mark Kuebler, to help bridge the education and financial gap for children and adolescents battling cancer. TutorVille Foundation is the first and only organization of its kind that supports students from kindergarten to college age with 100% of their education needs met before, during and after their treatment. On June 11, 1963, Vivian Malone and James Hood, under the protection of federal marshals and the federalized Alabama National Guard, broke the racial barrier and enrolled as undergraduate students at the University of Alabama. That day, Alabama Governor George Wallace made a ceremonial stand in the schoolhouse door protesting the federal court order that called for the admittance of the Black students. But Malone and Hood were not the first Black students at the university.

The passage of Senate Bill 2190 and House Bill 43 are critical to the City of Houston's Fiscal Year 2018 Budget. The passage of these two pieces of legislation allows the City of Houston to avoid a $240 million budget shortfall that would lead to layoffs for city employees.
