Highland Capital Management continues its support of the George W. Bush Presidential Center through a new $10 million endowment gift, announced today, which will help sustain the Bush Center’s series of public programs. Highland will become the presenting sponsor for the programming series, “Engage at the Bush Center, presented by Highland Capital Management,” which brings authors, thought leaders, and newsmakers to the Bush Center for lectures and discussions throughout the year. The joint announcement was made today by Bush Presidential Center CEO Kenneth Hersh and Jim Dondero, co-founder and president of Highland Capital Management.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston and Comcast have joined forces to equip 10 of the nonprofit’s Clubs in the Houston area, and its headquarters, with Wi-Fi connected “Lift Zones” to enable children and teens to fully participate in educational opportunities and the digital economy. Comcast is providing robust Wi-Fi hotspots in safe spaces designed to help lower income students get online, participate in distance learning and do their homework. Installation began last week.

The Houston Independent School District has no confirmed cases of COVID-19. However, acting out of an abundance of caution, several individuals have been placed on a 14-day self-quarantine. All self-quarantine individuals recently returned from a country on the CDC travel warning list or are closely related to someone who did. Schools will be identified specifically if cases are positively confirmed.
