Last night, BET Networks brought a Brooklyn experience to La Grange in Houston to celebrate the recent premiere of their new reality series, “HUSTLE IN BROOKLYN.” The theme of the event was truly felt by guests as BET activated the space to include scenes reminiscent of the Brooklyn neighborhood including a photo booth with a Brooklyn Bridge backdrop, a bodega with Hustle In Brooklyn magazines of each cast member, street lights and signs, newspaper stands and even distributing New York City metro cards with the Hustle In Brooklyn logo

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH) just launched its new teen social justice initiative called Be The Change You Want 2 See with three events last week to educate and inspire teen Club members to be catalysts for social change and racial justice in Houston and our nation. The objective of the initiative is to amplify youth voices and activism through critical and intentional conversations, artistic expression and service learning projects. The youth-led initiative uses the hashtag #bethechangeBGCGH.
Remembering the Life of Eric Hoffman Lawson
Born in St. Louis on July 15, 1959, Eric Hoffman Lawson is the third child and only son of Audrey Hoffman Lawson and William Alexander Lawson. While Eric was a toddler, his parents and eleven others founded Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in the family living room. Like his siblings, young Eric was baptized by his father and began a lifelong membership at Wheeler Avenue. He was a member of the Chapel Choir, Communications Corps, and Boy Scout Troup 242, becoming an Eagle Scout at the age of fourteen.

Martinville Drive Roadway Pavement Replacement Schedule
Houston City Council Member Dave Martin would like to announce that repairs are scheduled to begin along Martinville Drive today, January 8, 2018. The scope of work includes the replacement of existing pavement with new asphalt concrete pavement as well as ditch regrading. Construction is anticipated to be completed by early Spring 2019.
